MY TAKE ON PHOTOGRAPHY
"The reason why we want to remember an image varies:
Because we simply 'love it', or dislike it so intensely that it becomes compulsive, or because it has made us realize something about ourselves, or has brought about some slight change in us. Perhaps the reader can recall some image after seeing of which has never been quite the same."

Ack! More Snow!
Well, yesterday it was all about taking pictures of the beautiful scenic landscape...today it was all about the kiddies' antics. I've never seen piles of snow around our house as high as they were today! & boy did they enjoy themselves :D & yes, this will be a picture overload...
In case you were guessing, yes he was preparing to pumble Maddie with yet another snowball.
Ahh the taste of fresh snow...just make sure it's not the yellow kind Jay!
I swear Maddie spent just about all her time just laying around in the snow...like "Look Mommy a snow blankie!" Or "Look Mommy a snow pillow!" Silly girl! You know, it's just so FLUFFY!
Do a double take, she's sitting on our bird bath :o
And that concludes our day filled with loads of snow & ice & tons of laughter!

Winter
Well, mother nature dumped another couple of feet of snow on us last night...and yet another snow day for the kiddies. Well, they played till their noses turned red. Keeping themselves busy so that I can get photograph the oh so lovely scenery! I was surprised to see that all the branches underneath all the fluffy snow, were covered in ice. Man, if only I had me a macro lens, this was all I could think about while taking these : /

Scavenger Hunt Sunday
First item up....Memories
I started a journal when I realized that I couldn't be photographing and recording every moment of my kids lives...so for these precious moments I record in my journal. Memories that I will always be able to look back & recall.

This is actually one of Jason's trinkets. It's an old motorcycle trophy that I picked up for a buck one day in an antique shop. He's got a love for motorcycles & couldn't pass it by :)

A Bit of Whimsy
Well, I'm on the brink of opening up an Etsy shop to showcase my drawings...I've created a new blog in which I'll enjoy blogging about all of my new creations.
I still can't believe that I'm going through with all of this...I've never dreamed in a million years that I'd be sharing my work. I've always been so private where this is concerned. These drawings come from within & are so personal to me.
Needless to say...I hope to share so other's can enjoy the wold of my whimsy, ~A Bit of Whimsy~
http://abit0fwhimsy.blogspot.com/
I've never been so nervous before, but am I'm sure that there will be nothing more rewarding. I simply love to draw & if I can continue to do what I love & share with others, well, I suppose this would be me, following my dreams.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Another week of Scavenger Hunting :)
A Different View
Normally, obviously I would have Jason as the subject in focus in this picture, but as I was taking it he was insisting, "Mommy, take a picture of the 'General Lee!!'" So therefore this picture was taken as per darling sons point of *view*.
Looking up
Here, I was simply *looking up*, watching an icicle melt away.
Maddie *looking up*. This one I took the other week & it was what I first thought of when heard this topic, sooo...I just had to include it :) I know, cheater :P
Abstract
Maddie, to me, looking rather *abstract* here.
Hair
Well, what do you know, it was crazy *hair* day at school the other day!
Half
I always like to think that my glass is always *half* full :')

Snow Day!
So we've been getting a pretty good amount of snow around here this winter so far. But I've yet to get outside & take pictures of the kiddies. Well, we got a about a foot of snow overnight into Wednesday, & although there was a ton of snow & it was declared a snow day for the kiddies the sun was out & it was a lovely day!
& in case you're wondering, Jason opted out of playing in the snow & instead decided he'd rather stay in the house & finish watching "the Dukes of Hazard." Go figure : /

Scavenger Hunt Sunday
::patting self on back:: so proud to have FINALLY completed a scavenger hunt...I'd like to participate more consistently in the New Year!
1.This is Me
Yeah that's me alright, so tired I just want to go to bed....the *other* me is too wired to go to bed & couldn't put her camera down, so decided to tackle this item for the scavenger hunt!
2.Resolutions
This was a tough one, considering my new years *resolution* is too stop complaining so much, especially over the small stuff. So with no ideas as of today, & as a last resort, this morning took a snapshot of Maddie & Jay together to represent Love not war lol! They too need to stop complaining & arguing with each other all the time...got to love the "peace" bear :)
3.Treasured
OK, I'm getting a bit sentimental here...This is my Lacey girl's collar & tags. This and her memory will be treasured forever...
4.Innocence
5.Primitive
Ha! My ever so *primitive* SLR...I'm sure this is what the cave men used back in the day of photography ;)
Happy Sunday!

I've Gone Snap Happy :D
I know, what else is new :P But seriously, more so than usual... I got a new lens after Christmas & have not been able to put my camera down! Here are some of my unfortunate subjects as the result of my insanity!!!
^^see new blog header^^ Of course poor Maddie the first to feel the wrath of my obsession, I suppose she's used to it by now though. She can't even watch TV in peace.
I am in awe at all the light the 30mm 1.4 (ISO 400 1.4 SS 100) will let in. It's hard to believe it was actually snowing & soo overcast outside at this moment.
All right, all right Mommy I'll entertain you with a smile :)
Yes, this was right before school, as early as it was, the camera was out...as I've had so many missed opportunities with Jason being away at school all day! Poor guy, I feel like he's being neglected.
After all, it was crazy hair day at school...couldn't pass this moment up!
This was the first day of the new lens, trying it out, & here you have a lovely portrait of my Maddie clinging to my leg.
& this was also in the a.m. before he headed off for school the other day. & ah yes, Fred...I suppose he doesn't mind being tortured all that much.
Here's Maddie holding her newest toy...yes, it's a Teddy bear made by me the most UNcrafty person ever. Thank you very much... she was watching an episode of Little Bear on TV, where Mother Bear makes him a stuffed toy bear, & he called him *Fisherman Bear*. Well of course, wouldn't you know, she comes to me asking "Mommy, will you make ME a Fisherman Bear?" And with those eyes, seriously, how could I say no? It was completely her idea to use an old shirt, one of her favorites, with a colorful peace sign on the front to use as material. Buttons sewed on for eyes & a nose and here you have it, Maddie with her new bear. His name is *Sam* by the way.
I simply can't imagine my life, not capturing these precious moments on film...
