Who would have thunk that the subject "food" would be so challenging for me?! All I could come up with was a snap shot of Jason's bowl of fruit loops... keep in mind that as I was shooting it, there was my child in the background whining "moooom...when can I eat my breakfast?!"

Coming up with a "portrait" shot was hard for me too, as shooting portraits are completely foreign to me. I pulled this shot of Maddie I took a while back and converted it to B&W...So here she is, a "portrait" of darling daughter.

Here is our dinning room "chair." My only problem with this one, is that I wished I had gotten out and about to capture a more interesting one :P

My first thoughts with photographing a "game" was to shoot a board game etc..but after an evening of playing badmitten with Maddie, I figured this could make for a shot for this weeks scavenger hunt.

And lastly, "miniature." Maddie had a hand in this one :D Thanks to her and darling son Jason, I actually had a variety of miniature things to photograph...Here I chose Maddie's My little ponies!

These are wonderful. I especially love the depth of field in your chair shot. I think it's funny that you think your portrait work is foreign to you because I think you do lovely lifestyle portraits of your daughter all the time. I think sometimes we try so hard to achieve a certain style when a natural fit is right in front of me. I think you should continue on with the lifestyle work because you're good at it...don't sell yourself short! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
