Here is my eighth pic from my 10th folder for this year; No surprise it's Maddie! But I'm glad for this challenge because I had forgotten about this particular pic! I took it an outing to one of our favorite parks in early spring...And I suppose I forgot about it because she's not smiling. But now I'm looking at it again and am rather liking it :D
MY TAKE ON PHOTOGRAPHY
"The reason why we want to remember an image varies:
Because we simply 'love it', or dislike it so intensely that it becomes compulsive, or because it has made us realize something about ourselves, or has brought about some slight change in us. Perhaps the reader can recall some image after seeing of which has never been quite the same."

POTW! "Wide Open"
Well, here's my take on the subject...
This was a wild flower DD had handed to me in our back yard the other day...of course my first thought, oO so pretty, must take it's picture...then I thought perfect opportunity shot for this weeks POTW :)

More from the playground :D
So here are some shots compiled over 2 days consecutively going to our local playground. They've got all new equipment, so Jason & Maddie are in their glory checking it all out...
Now that school's been out, I'm sooo happy to finally be getting some shots of my guy!! (he was in summer school up until this past Thursday :P)
Maddie swinging away! I'm so loving this shot...I've got sooo many of her on swings, but I think this one might "take the cake!"
Weee :D Ever since she learned how to pump herself, she's been the swing queen! & do you believe this outfit?! I'm blessed with a little girl who on any day will dress with a style that feeds into my photography obsession ;0)
Here's Jason playing peek-a-boo. Can't believe I actually got him to look at me here.
Here's one of Maddie up high on the jungle gym...I'm thinking of using this one for this weeks scavenger hunt "view from below." I don't know why but I just love this shot. I know some might say that it's blown out all over the place. But I love the look of her creamy white skin next the bright blue sky.
And finally, here are the trouble makers together...for the moment, enjoying each other's company :)

Shutter love Tuesdays! "sports"
Today's theme at the Trendy Treehouse is "sports!" Here is one of Jay watching his father's softball team playing...I chose this one because I think it really captures not only his love for baseball but also his love for his Daddy :D
You can check out some other cool sports shots today at, of course, the Trendy Treehouse!

My goof balls :P
I Heart Faces: "purple"
Today's challenge at I Heart Faces is the color purple...This one came to mind as it is one of my favorite snap shots of Maddie...this was at the Franklin Institute in Philly...I could have shot her all day by this railing, except haha, of course the family wanted to move on!
BTW, there was a spiraling staircase below and she was watching all the people coming & going :)
Check out some more "purple" shots at:

Scavenger Hunt!
Who would have thunk that the subject "food" would be so challenging for me?! All I could come up with was a snap shot of Jason's bowl of fruit loops... keep in mind that as I was shooting it, there was my child in the background whining "moooom...when can I eat my breakfast?!"
Coming up with a "portrait" shot was hard for me too, as shooting portraits are completely foreign to me. I pulled this shot of Maddie I took a while back and converted it to B&W...So here she is, a "portrait" of darling daughter.
Here is our dinning room "chair." My only problem with this one, is that I wished I had gotten out and about to capture a more interesting one :P
My first thoughts with photographing a "game" was to shoot a board game etc..but after an evening of playing badmitten with Maddie, I figured this could make for a shot for this weeks scavenger hunt.
And lastly, "miniature." Maddie had a hand in this one :D Thanks to her and darling son Jason, I actually had a variety of miniature things to photograph...Here I chose Maddie's My little ponies!

Raw (e): Mirrors
I took this shot of myself when I first got my DSLR! Overwhelmed with excitement I suppose I felt the need to shoot myself with it ;)

Scavenger Hunt!
First item up is Black & White conversion...This is all new to me, so after several tweaks & adjustments this is what a came up with:
Here are Jason and Maddie being "happy" :D This was a spot on a bench in Williamsburg VA on our recent vacation...These moments are far and few between, I'm glad to have captured this one!
Maddie being "wet." This was an easy choice as the kiddies have been spending countless hours being wet in our new kiddie pool!
Next up, simply "knob." Here's a few from darling daughter's kitchen set... by far the prettiest knob that I could think of!
Last but not least, "made of wood." This is my favorite wicker basket...It has such a wooden feel to it, & that's why I love it so much! It serves absolutely no purpose, (with nothing it)it simply sits in my family room looking pretty :)
